A doggy tale

Shortly before Christmas my dog Mats suddenly started developing a large growth. When the vet saw it, the first prognosis was a very aggressive cancer that would kill her within two weeks. This dark suspicion was confirmed by lab results last Friday, shortly before New Year. I had but one option left: to prepare for the decision to put her to sleep, when it would be needed.

Time to start telling a better story

We all live in stories. Stories we tell ourselves and to each other. But what if we tell the wrong story? A story in which millions of people can simply disappear? The current story about Lyme - called the 'latest fashion disease for young women' by some - is a story compiled of misconceptions, oversimplification, gender and confirmation bias. This article shows that from a social perspective, this leads to an institutional 'gang rape'. This new article was written for the website Lyme Basics as a guest article, to read during your Christmas holidays and as an inspiration to start telling a better story in 2018.

A new language in Lyme Land?

Suppose you’re in a plane, on your way to a sunny island. Everybody is cheerful and full of anticipation of weeks of swimming, relaxation and fun. Until… somebody shouts “This is a hijack!” Sometimes there is power in language. Sometimes it’s mainly the displacement of hot air. What language can empower an incredibly large group of people, who had their lives hijacked by both a parasite and by the system that is supposed to take care of them? Can a new language make a difference for them in times of dogma and active repression of knowledge?

In response to the broadcasting of the documentary 'Cheating or Borreliose' in Denmark and recently also in the Netherlands, a report was submitted to TV2, the government-owned television institution in Denmark that made and sold the documentary. In this second article you can read a shorter and simplified version of it, so everyone can understand its essence and can see why the documentary is indeed contributing to the violation of human rights of Lyme patients.

The documentary 'Cheating or Borreliose' was broadcasted in 2016 in Denmark and recently also in the Netherlands with the name 'Undercover in the German Lyme clinics'. This lead to a report being submitted to TV2, the government-owned television institution in Denmark, which made and sold the documentary. It is an example of how the official recording of human rights abuses by the United Nations can be used to protect Lyme patients.

The lost link between ALS and Lyme disease

Knowledge about emergent diseases normally increases over time. Lyme Disease seems to be an exception to this rule. Claims that governments and scientists made around 1990, seem to have been forgotten. This article explores the lost link between ALS and Lyme. ALS is also known as Motor Neurone Disorder (MND) or as Lou Gehrig's Disease, after the famous Yankee baseball player who died from it in the 1940's. It is still claimed there is no known cause nor cure for it.
The mysterious group of anonymous authors who call themselves ‘Gotcha F’ - "Scientists United Against Anti-Science Shills" - seems to have had a field day improving the original 2009 article ‘Implications of Gender in Chronic Lyme Disease’ by Gary P. Wormser and Eugene D. Shapiro. It’s reposted here for entertainment and educational purposes only.
The mysterious group of anonymous authors who call themselves ‘Gotcha F’ - "Scientists United Against Anti-Science Shills" is at it again. They now improved the original article “Bodily distress syndrome: A new diagnosis for functional disorders in primary care?”, by making it more honest. This is the abstract of their improved version.
A group of anonymous authors who call themselves ‘Gotcha F’ - "Scientists United Against Anti-Science Shills" - improved the original article “To test or not to test? Laboratory support for the diagnosis of Lyme borreliosis”, by making it more honest. This is the abstract of their improved version, which circulated on Social Media soon after the original publication on September 5, 2017.

Follow the Worms

Last week it became clear how Dutch Child Protection Services falsely accuses parents of abusing their children. In a prior broadcast by this same high quality journalistic program, it was shown how at least 50 parents of children with Lyme Disease were also falsely accused of ‘Munchausen by Proxy’. This article discusses the connection between these accusations of child abuse and disputed diseases such as Lyme.
